I experienced something like this when I saw my first cruise ship while visiting a small small seaside town where the main street led all the way to the docks. At first, I thought it was a T-intersection until the entire city block, taller than the rest of the town, started to move.

Yeah, I guess it was. My brother recalled a scene from the movie, Speed 2, when the ship was headed inland. Scary! I've actually been on one once. Those ships are ridiculously huge. It's as if the tourists are saying, "We wanna have a vacation on the sea, but we don't actually want to deal with the sea. So, we'll take as much land with us as possible."
